Sometimes when you’re not spending any home improvement money but you really really wanna do a home improvement project, you put up a big piece of fabric as a curtain and you use thumb-tacks instead of a rod and a ribbon instead of a tie-back. Boom!
I had the fabric lying around for years. Friends brought it for me from India, but I couldn’t figure out what to make with it. It’s very pretty and I would have been sad to cut it up. It was quite a long piece, with beautiful selvages, ready to go without even hemming. Our living room needed a dash of blue, so I draped the curtain by our patio door.
